What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small text file that a website leaves in your browser. It lets the site remember something between page loads, such as the tour you were looking at or whether you have already dismissed a notice. Cookies cannot run programs or read other files on your device.
We also use a related technology called local storage, which holds similar information but is not sent back to our servers with each request. For simplicity, this policy covers both.
What we set and why
We keep the list short. These are the cookies that matter for a normal visit:
- Essential cookies. These keep your booking session working and remember your cookie choice so the banner does not keep appearing. The site cannot take a booking without them.
- Preference cookies. These remember small choices such as the departure date you were comparing, so you do not have to re-enter them.
- Analytics cookies. These tell us which tour pages get read, how far down people scroll, and where visitors leave. We use that to fix unclear pages. The data is aggregated.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not run third-party trackers that follow you to other websites.
Third parties that may set cookies
A few services we embed can set their own cookies when you interact with them. We do not control those cookies and they are governed by the provider's own policy.
- Our payment provider, when you reach the checkout step.
- Google Maps, when an embedded map is loaded on the contact page.
- Our analytics provider, if you have accepted analytics cookies.
Managing and removing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Every major browser has a privacy or security section where cookies can be cleared, blocked for all sites, or blocked for individual sites. Deleting essential cookies will log you out and may stop a booking from completing, so do that after you have finished a purchase.
If you change your mind about analytics cookies, clear the stored preference for this site in your browser and the banner will offer the choice again on your next visit.
