Small-group day tours from Brisbane

Blue Mountains Small-Group Day Tour

We leave Chermside early, head west past Penrith and spend the day among eucalypt forest, waterfall valleys and the sandstone cliffs around Katoomba. Groups stay under 22 people, which means lookout stops don't turn into a queue and everyone gets a window seat on the coach.

  • Hotel pickup within 15 km of Chermside
  • Morning tea and a hot lunch included
  • Runs Tuesday to Sunday, all year

What the day actually looks like

Nine hours out west, with time to breathe

Most Blue Mountains tours rush you through three lookouts in ninety minutes. Ours doesn't. We plan for eleven hours door to door and keep the walking pace gentle, because the ridge tracks are uneven and nobody enjoys being herded.

Why we started doing it this way

Built around the people who actually walk the tracks

Our lead guide, Marcus, has been walking the Jamison Valley tracks since 2011 and got tired of watching tour groups jog past the good bits. So we set the schedule around his pacing: one longer stop at Wentworth Falls, a slow loop at Echo Point, and enough slack in the afternoon to stay put when the mist rolls in and the cliffs turn blue properly.

  • Guides who know the track conditions on the day
  • Small coach with room for prams and walking poles
  • No shop stops unless you ask for one

The mist that ruins photos is also the reason the mountains look like the mountains. We wait it out.

How booking works

From pickup to the last lookout

01

Pick the day

Book online or ring the shop. We confirm your pickup window by text the afternoon before, usually between 4 and 6 pm.

02

Morning pickup

The coach collects from Chermside and nearby suburbs from 6:15 am. Bring a jacket; the ridge sits about six degrees cooler than the city.

03

Wentworth Falls walk

A 45-minute loop to the top of the falls, with a gentler option for anyone who would rather wait at the picnic shelter.

04

Echo Point and lunch

We eat at a cafe in Katoomba, then walk to the Three Sisters lookout. Lunch and coffee are on us.

05

Scenic World or the village

Take the cable car if heights do not bother you, or wander Leura's main street for an hour. Back in Brisbane by about 5:30 pm.

Questions people ask us on the phone

About 2.5 km in total across the day, on formed tracks with a few steep sections and stairs. If stairs are a problem, tell us when you book and we will swap your Wentworth Falls loop for the shelter lookout.

Yes, unless cloud is sitting right on the ridge. Echo Point is a fixed stop. On the rare day the view closes in, Marcus takes the group to Govetts Leap instead and adjusts lunch timing to suit.

A warm layer, closed shoes, a water bottle and a camera. We hand out rain ponchos on the coach if the forecast turns halfway through the day.

We do, as long as you are within 15 km of Chermside. Add your address at checkout and we will text a pickup time the afternoon before your tour.

Folding prams fit in the coach luggage bay. Wheelchairs need to be booked ahead so we can get the accessible coach out, and the Echo Point boardwalk is flat enough to manage comfortably.

Want a seat on a specific date?

Tell us the day you are looking at and how many are travelling. We answer emails the same day, and if the departure is full we will say so rather than upsell you onto something else.
